Library Friends

LIBRARY FRIENDS OF COOK COUNTY SUPPORTS THE GRAND MARAIS PUBLIC LIBRARY AND COOK COUNTY SCHOOL LIBRARIES


Library Friends of Cook County is an all-volunteer non-profit organization, composed of members who care about books and information resources, people, and particularly libraries – those places where books and people get together.  We focus on advocacy, public relations, fund-raising and volunteer services.  Library Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. 

Library Friends make available annual grants to:  

  • Grand Marais Public Library
  • ISD 166 Public Schools Library
  • Birch Grove Charter School
  • Great Expectations Charter School
  • Oshki Ogimaag Charter School

Your membership fees and donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your gifts go to support our community libraries.  Use the form on the Friends Brochure and send it to the address below.  You can also donate through GiveMN.org.

VOLUNTEERS ARE WELCOME!  
 

There are many opportunities to become involved including: 
  • Author Events (signing, readings, etc.)
  • Movie Nights, Fast Friends, Puzzle nights
  • Special projects in partnership with other cultural or educational organizations
  • Membership records
  • Promotions and grant writing
  • Library Friends Board – become a member of the Board
